My husband and I stayed at the Peacock studio for a week in June 2011 for our 1st year anniversary. This place is definitely a "home away from home" in every way possible. The cost, location, amenities and more importantly the customer service was excellent. I was able to find Waikiki Place easily online and felt confident that we would have a safe and clean place to stay while we were in Hawaii and I was right! It was easy to book, Tom answered all my emails right away and was patient with all my questions. When we got to the building, my two little kids were so tired from the trip and it was so nice to relax in Peacock room, which has a homey feel and was very comfortable for my family of 4. Delta, BC Canada As the website says, Waikiki Place is the place to be! My boyfriend and I stayed in the Palm studio in July of 2010. My cousin was getting married on Oahu and we were looking for a great place to stay. Being a college graduate student and my boyfriend having just graduated with his degree, we were looking for a decent place in Waikiki on a budget. Well, the Palm studio outdid my "decent" place idea I had in my mind when first looking for a place. This studio was phenomenal. My boyfriend and I didn't have many expectations for a place to stay. All we truly wanted was a clean home for a week with a parking spot that we didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for everyday. The Palm studio met our expectations plus more. The view was great! Sitting out on the lanai every morning was so fun and relaxing. Having a kitchen was even more of a treat so we didn't have to eat out every meal. The complex was extremely quiet, but all residents that we did encounter were very friendly and asked us how our stay in HI was going. The walk to the beach was the best part! It seemed less than 5 minutes. There was also TONS of shopping, restaurants and nightlife around. Tom was extremely accommodating. His prompt responses to e-mail and friendly personality solidified our decision to make a reservation. I wouldn't even second guess staying here again, however, who knows if it will be available with how great it is. I even posted a picture on Facebook of the view we had and received comments on where it was located, how much, etc. Obviously, I would recommend Waikiki Place in a heartbeat and can't wait to go back....maybe as a graduation gift to myself.

Calgary, AB My family loved staying at Waikiki Place, as a family of 3 we loved the convenience and location of this studio. We enjoyed breakfast on the lenai each morning, then latte from starbucks-right out front! We were within 1 minute walk to the Kalakaua Drive with all the amazing shops, many ABC stores for groceries, high end shopping, restaurants and the zoo. A family membership at the zoo was only 34 dollars a year!, and we used it everyday to start our amazing day in Honolulu. Also the condo is 5 minute walk to the beach, with beach towels, chairs and boogie boards all ready for your use. We travelled a long way from Nova Scotia and had a couple of delays, and Tom kept in touch with us by text and email. When we arrived we rented a vehicle and called Tom, and he was still waiting for us late into the night. He met us at the condo, and showed us our free parking spot and to the room and amenities. The room itself was very clean and modern, with high end finishes. My son being 12 really enjoyed the free internet and docking station for his ipod. Very pleasantly surprised! We had nothing but an amazing time and Tom was amazing to deal with. The condo’s security was also a great benefit and we felt very safe. We cannot wait to return!!!

Bristol, Great Britain Stumbled across Tom's Waikiki Place surfing the Internet. Thought it was too good to be true but for once the previous reviews were spot on! The location was perfect as we could easily walk to the beach and enjoy the sand and sun. At night it was an easy walk to Waikiki's great restaurants - Roy's and Il Lupino come to mind. There was a parking spot included with our stay. The rates were super reasonable considering the condo was clean and stocked with just about everything you could need, the fridge and stove were smallish but we didn't come to Hawaii to do any grand dinners in our condo. We will definitely try to stay here again on our next trip.

Hauser, ID I wanted to let you know how happy we were in your Waikiki Place condo when we came to Oahu for my daughter's wedding in July. Check-in was a breeze, and the room was more than we could have hoped for. In addition to the kitchen having everything we needed, there was lots of storage for our clothing and belongings. You thought of virtually everything! It was very clean and quiet. We loved the location, close to the beach, shopping and the grocery store. And free parking! We couldn't have asked for more. Kirkland, WA Anytime we stay in Waikiki we always stay at Waikiki Place because it has everything we need while on vacation at such a reasonable price. Great location, comfortable, clean room, and plenty of privacy. We loved the beach decor in the condo and all the appliances and dishes made us feel right at home. I loved to sit outside on the balcony every morning with a cup of coffee with a view of the ocean. We recommend any of our friends to book their reservations for a condo at Waikiki Place - it's great for couples or families.

Enid, OK We stayed for one week in the Bahama Suite in Waikiki Place. It was absolutely amazing. This is the best deal out there. The listing description was very accurate and Tom, the owner, was very helpful in assisting us along the way. He provided excellent customer service. The location is spectacular, just one block of the main strip in Waikiki. As we rented a car to tour the island, having a free parking spot was also very helpful. The property was extremely clean and included a kitchen, which allowed us to make breakfast before heading out for the day. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and family.

After a lot of internet searching we decided to make reservations in the Palm at Waikiki Place, our decision was rewarded as it truly is the "place to be in Waikiki". From our first contact with Tom, the entire experience was smooth and enjoyable. The arranged transportation from the airport was welcome and delivered us to the Marine Surf and our vacation retreat. Everything was as stated, the unit clean and well presented and abound with amenities. We appreciated the full kitchen, internet and phone use and the free parking. The location is very central indeed and close to everything, you really don't need a vehicle unless you’re planning on exploring the island. Tom was always available and willing to assist in any way to make your vacation memorable, it is why we immediately rebooked the Palm for our next upcoming vacation. From initial contact about booking the unit right until check-out, everyone I dealt with was very helpful and courteous. The location of the unit was amazing, just a few block from the beach and just steps from the nightlife. The unit was clean and had everything we needed during our stay in Waikiki. The best part of the booking process was that I wasn't obligated to hand over full payment of the unit prior to arrival. The deposit amount required was reasonable and I felt safe processing the payment online through the secure website. Check-in instructions provided were clear and thorough. The balance of the payment was paid upon arrival quickly through an iPhone application, which I thought was very convenient and high-tech. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to stay in Waikiki and looking for good value for money.

Staying in Waikiki does not need to be expensive and Tom's Waikiki Place is the answer to an affordable stay without sacrificing superior accommodations and convenience. I absolutely had a wonderful experience and was surprised by the furnishings; they were literally just like any 4 star hotel! I had a wonderful view of the mountain tops and city, beach towels were available and everything was clean clean clean! Tom was extremely easy to get ahold of for bookings and other accommodation-related needs. Tom's Waikiki's place is conveniently located within 1 minute walk to the infamous Kalakaua Drive where it is lined with all the stores, restaurants, and the beach!! So if Starbucks across the street is not enough for you, other nice cafes nearby with their excellent coffee and pastries will surely not disappoint! There is also fantastic selection of restaurants within walking distance as well, and going to landmark places via tourist/public transportation was very convenient. My only regret was not staying there longer (and take advantage for a better deal)! Regardless, thank you Tom for the amazing accommodations!

Although the reason we selected this unit originally was because of the furnishings and the price, we were very pleasantly surprised when we checked in that it was even better than what was shown on the website! It was bright and extremely clean, we loved being able to relax on the sofa and to be able to cook and eat at “home”.
Tom’s customer service was great. Right from the original request he was very timely in getting back to us. The check-in was very smooth and he was very informative and helpful to get us settled in. We took advantage of his free airport pickup and didn’t feel the need to rental car at all. The unit was very centrally located and we could walk to almost everywhere we wanted. When we wanted to go to Chinatown and to Hanama Bay we just caught the bus that was right across the street. There were lots of great restaurants close...we cooked breakfast and lunch in the unit, but ate out somewhere different every night. We would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Honolulu. It was inexpensive, nicely furnished (the bed was VERY comfortable) and centrally located.” Robert L. My husband and I stayed in the Bahama room the first three weeks of October 2009. We had a wonderful stay. We were drawn to this unit by the very reasonable pricing and the free long distance and internet. Needless to say we were pleasantly surprised to find the condo exactly as illustrated on the website - very tastefully decorated and roomy enough for us with lots of drawer space. The kitchenette was fully functional, the bathroom was spacious, and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The building itself was very well kept and we felt very secure staying there. The location was wonderful. Centrally located, close to everything - across the street from the bus stops, 1 block from Waikiki Shopping Plaza and a short 10 minute walk to the beach. I spent my ten days in Waikiki with perfect accommodations. Waikiki Place had the perfect suite for me. Because it was centrally located in Waikiki I was able to walk anywhere in the Waikiki area within minutes. Parking was available, also, so that I could rent a car to reach the outer parts of the island. The suite, itself, was furnished with everything I needed. It had a complete kitchen, television and DVD player, and internet connection---perfect for my "home away from home"

We planned our journey months in advance and these are our experiences: 1. Planning and booking - great communication with Tom, recommendation of transportation from airport to apartment worked out smooth. 2. Tom introduced us to the apartment quick and easy, just what we wanted after travelling for 30 hours from Sweden. 3. Apartment - everything what we needed was there and it was correct described. As our mobile phone turned out to be not functioning in US, we were very pleased to see that internet was just a cable away. We managed to solve our communication that way instead. 4. Our summary is: You probably can't get any more for the money and so close to everything in Waikiki or Honolulu. If we ever will return to Hawaii we know where to stay. Parking was in the same building so it was easy to get in and out to drive if we wanted to explore other areas. When we booked a condo at Waikiki Place, we didn't know exactly what to expect because we were used to staying a commercial hotels. Once we arrived, we were in for a pleasant surprise. The accommodations were well beyond adequate; the modern look and spacious layout was perfect! The property was clean and newly renovated. There may have been no maid service, but we loved the privacy the condo provided. Plus there were cleaning products included in the condo so we could utilize those, in addition to a fully stocked kitchen. They even included beach towels/mats and there was also a small selection of books you could take to the beach with you for some quiet time. And I was excited they included Starbucks coffee for the coffeemaker! All of these small touches helped us to feel right at home. The three of us had plenty of space to relax for our 14 day holiday stay. The balcony had a wonderful view of the city and the ocean (being on the 17th floor was key) and we were within walking distance of everything in Waikiki. I sat out and sipped my coffee every morning on the balcony admiring the breathtaking view. Our day trips around the island were worry free since a parking spot was included in the building. Bottom line--a similar setup for two weeks at a hotel like the Outrigger would cost around $3700. That probably wouldn't include a kitchen and you would have to pay for a parking space. I dare anyone to try and beat Tom's deal at Waikiki Place! I would absolutely recommend this condo to friends and family. We plan on going back there soon!

I stayed at Marine Surf and really enjoyed the location. I was right in the middle of Waikiki, walking distance to everything, two blocks to the beach. The view was great, had all the amenities you need for a picnic, beach, and staying at home for a meal. I took full advantage of all this. Tom was very helpful before and after my trip. The room was nicely furnished just as the pics portray. The patio was my private escape for morning tea, in the evening watching the sun set. Loved it and would stay there again and have recommended it to my friends and family.

This condo was fabulous. Besides it having been totally updated and with all amenities you could ask for in Hawaii--like-- they had beach mats, beach towels and chairs. They also had tons of storage space for your stuff, it was well appointed the bed was very comfortable. We are used to a king bed but had no problem sleeping on this queen. The location is superb--2-3 minute walk to the beach, close to everything in Waikiki, though we don't usually do much in Waikiki as we go to HI every year and we have local friends there to visit and do stuff but this location is as I said super. The price was outstanding and you have really good security. Parking is included which is quite a premium in this area. Our stay here was great. Booking was easy, and checking in was great; we even got a shuttle from the airport right to the condo! The apartment has a great view, and was clean with lots of dishes. We loved the beach towels, beach mats and lunch bag included in the closet. The location was awesome right near the beach. We would definitely stay here next time we come to Waikiki!

I’ve been a regular visitor to the Islands for the past 30+years and have stayed in many places over that period. Tom’s studios are very well equipped and are some of the best in Waikiki. The attention to detail is excellent and the ease in which the bookings and check-ins are done is nice for a change. This year will be my 3rd visit to the “Palms” and I can’t wait.

I had a great guest experience for 2 weeks in December, 2010 in your Palm Studio at the Marine Surf. Thank you for having everything perfect for my visit. Booking was easy and your representative met me when I arrived with no problem. The room was very attractive, very clean, and very quiet as far as any noise from neighbors or the street below. The view from the room was great both day and night, both looking at the city and the water. I absolutely have no suggestions as how to make your place better. Don't change anything. Marine Surf is pleasant, as were all the other guests with whom I crossed paths. I look forward to staying in one of your units again in the future.

We had an incredible stay at Waikiki Place. We had a little trouble with booking but Tom was VERY accommodating and even met us to check in at midnight due to our delayed flight. We stayed with out 2 children and had plenty of room. We especially appreciated being able to cook our own meals if we chose to in order to save money on our vacation. We would recommend Waikiki Place and we will definitely stay there again. Mahalo nui loa

Our stay at your Bahama Condo was very good the accommodations were excellent and we certainly would not hesitate to contact you again to rent one of your condos if we visit Honolulu again. Unfortunately during our stay we encountered a lot of rain and were unable to enjoy all of the different attractions and scenery of the island but we were again very pleased with your condo and its central location. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to visit again and will certainly be in touch with you at that time

Our stay at Waikiki Place was just what we needed. From the easy check in to the regrettable check out (we always hate to leave) your condo provided all we needed for our stay in Honolulu. Its great location allowed us to walk to most of the places we wanted to go and for the times we needed to drive, the onsite, reserved parking space removed all worry about getting back by a certain time to insure a parking place on our return. We fully intend to call you again for our next trip to Oahu, hopefully this fall.

Thank you for our wonderful month long vacation in the PEACOCK room. The lovely amenities that you provide are outstanding. The location of your unit was helpful to my wife and I, due to our limited ability to get around. Being on the corner of Seaside and Kuhio allowed us to walk out of the building and with a short walk to the corner we were able to catch the bus easily. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in downtown Waikiki at the Waikiki place. The room was very clean and very comfortable and right in the hearth of Waikiki. Tom Merrick made every thing happen just as he said it would. The staff was extremely accommodating. Our next visit to Hawaii, and it will not be soon enough, will be at Waikiki Place. Go and enjoy you will not be sorry.
Paul and Donna T Man West, Virginia This place is excellent. we stayed for a total of 5 days and the studio is not only more spacious than your average hotel room but is also fully stocked for your everyday convenience. The agent/owner tom is wonderful. He furnished the place beautifully and was thoughtful enough to place beach necessities like a cooler and a beach chair for our use. Not only is the everyday/weekly rate the most competitive in Waikiki but they also offer free parking which is hard to find in a city that usually charges $25 for parking alone per day. The studio is also centrally located at the heart of Waikiki, everything, and i mean everything, is within walking distance or a short drive away. If your not feeling up to the hustle and bustle of the city, most of the freeways that will take you to remote places in the island is easily accessible from the studio as well. I will definitely book this place again for my next trip to Hawaii.

We stayed last summer in the "Peacock" for more than a month. What a place, beautiful decor! The apartment was beautiful and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything and it was easy to cook all the meals for my family. The laundry room was always clean and they have it in every floor. My husband and I stayed in this condo for 3 nights while visiting Honolulu. The location is great for tourists. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping malls nearby. Don't need to rent a car if you plan to stay in the Waikiki area only. The parking space in the parking garage is a little small so rent a compact car if needed. The condo itself is very nice and clean. I like the fact that they provide free long distance calls to the US/Canada and a nice stereo system which you don't get from most of the hotels. Overall, we are very satisfied with this condo. We highly recommend this property to anyone who plans to visit Honolulu. Joyce K

I stayed at the Marine Surf Waikiki April 30 - May 8, 2009. I found the room to be a pleasant surprise. Before reserving the room, I closely examined the pictures on the website and was pleased to find the room actually looked even better than the pictures depicted. The interior of the room appeared to become completely renovated with new, comfortable bed, furniture, carpet and tasteful wall appointments. The room came with everything including towels, china, pots & pans, stereo system with IPOD cradle, free broadband internet, free long distance calls and free parking. The location is excellent, as the building is right in the middle of Waikiki and only about a block from the beach. All the common areas in the building were clean; the building was quiet and the staff polite and helpful. I'll definitely consider staying there again on my next visit. Sam M Iraq | |
